What information we handle, why we use it, and how to ask questions about your information.

Ask a question about this policyWho this covers
This policy describes the public Mako Financial website at makofinancial.com. Mako Financial is an iMedia Enterprises, Inc. company. Client engagements also have their own agreed scope, responsibilities and record-handling requirements.
The client portal is not open for use. This notice covers the public website; information handled under a professional engagement is also subject to that engagement’s agreed requirements.
Information we handle
- Website inquiries: your name, reply email address, firm name and selected area of support, plus information you provide in follow-up communications.
- Website operation: session identifiers, form-security tokens and request information used to operate the site and limit abuse. Hosting systems may also record connection information, such as IP addresses and requested pages.
The public inquiry form is for contact details, not financial documents, account numbers or passwords. Do not submit card security codes. Use an authorized channel agreed for your engagement when exchanging sensitive information.
Use & disclosure
We use inquiry details to respond to you and discuss potential services. Website request information also supports operation, troubleshooting and abuse prevention.
Information may be handled by providers supporting hosting, email and security. Inquiry details are stored in our inquiry system and Mautic contact-management system, and delivered to Mako by email so we can respond. Consultation requests receive an acknowledgment. These acknowledgments use Mautic to record delivery, image loads used to estimate opens, and link clicks; these events may include connection and device information. Email privacy tools and automated scanners can affect these measurements. A consultation request does not subscribe you to a marketing campaign. Information may also need to be disclosed in response to applicable legal obligations.
Google Analytics sends public-page usage information to Google by default for visits identified as being in the United States, unless you turn it off or send a Global Privacy Control signal. We estimate country from the connection IP address using a local MaxMind database, without making a separate external location-lookup request. Google Analytics stays off for non-U.S. or unknown locations and when the location database is unavailable or out of date. IP-based location is approximate. This can include a browser identifier, page views and device/browser information; Google also receives connection information when your browser contacts its servers. The website does not include advertising networks or a feature for selling visitor information.
Retention & security
Website inquiries are stored in our inquiry, contact-management and email systems. Retention depends on follow-up needs, any resulting engagement and applicable recordkeeping obligations. This website does not automatically delete inquiry emails after a fixed period. Hosting logs, backups and provider records may have separate retention periods. Contact us to discuss a particular record or request deletion; some records may need to be retained for applicable obligations.
The website uses HTTPS for transmission. Security also depends on operating procedures, service providers and your device. No website or transmission method can guarantee complete security.
Your questions & choices
To ask about access, correction or deletion of information, use our contact form and select Question about my information, or call (801) 709-0755. If you do not represent a firm, enter “Individual” in the firm-name field. We can discuss the details through follow-up rather than asking you to place sensitive information in the form.
We may need to verify your identity and authority before discussing records or acting on a request. The response depends on the rights and obligations that apply, including records that must be retained. This policy does not limit any rights provided by applicable law.
The services are intended for business users, not children. Contact us if you believe a child’s information was provided.
Analytics preferences
Google Analytics is on by default for eligible U.S. visits. Country is estimated locally from your IP address. The client portal is excluded.
Current setting: On.
Your preference applies only to eligible U.S. visits. You can change it at any time. Turning analytics off leaves essential cookies in place.
Policy updates
